A Legacy Built on Trust
Cooper's story began in 1914 in Akron, Ohio, when brothers-in-law John F. Schaefer and Claude E. Hart founded a company producing tyre patches, tyre cement and repair kits. Soon after, they acquired The Giant Tire & Rubber Company and relocated the business to Findlay, Ohio, laying out the groundwork for what would become a trusted global tyre brand.
In 1926, Ira J. Cooper introduced the Cooper Creed, a guiding philosophy based on good merchandise, fair play and a square deal. More than 100 years later, these principles remain at the heart of the Cooper brand and continue to shape how we design, engineer and manufacture our tyres today.
